TEP

Welcome to the TEP EE2 Website

Why EE2?
EE2 or Engineering Enhancement is the focus and direction of the new TEP programme to support the Engineering Diploma. TEP has a wealth of materials for both the Engineering Diploma and D&T related work and we have separated the two sites for our different visitors and members.

About the Diploma

The new Diplomas have been described as 'the most important innovation in English education for fifty years' and with the potential for becoming 'the qualification of choice for young people' the diplomas have now emerged from the planning stage into reality. The purpose of the Diploma is to provide an alternative route to learning which combines vocational relevance with applied academic rigour. It is designed to provide a workforce for the future which is increasingly 'job ready' and the inclusion of a high proportion of applied and work related content is designed to add considerable relevance to learning.

All over the country groups of teachers and lecturers have formed into clusters of schools and colleges (consortia). They are working together to provide the courses which will provide relevant work related learning. Engineering is amongst the five Diploma lines so far being delivered.

The Engineering Diploma has been developed by a partnership of the Sector Skills councils lead by SEMTA for engineering who specified the content, the Curriculum and Qualifications Authority and the Awarding Bodies such as AQA and City & Guilds.

About the TEP website

This TEP website is a premier on-line resource centre and it is quite literally a first 'port of call' for students and teachers engaged in Engineering Diploma work. There is a wealth of material on the site all of which is freely available to visitors with an engineering or technology requirement. Under all the links and tabs separate publications, video files, software and support files can be found and downloaded.

We encourage engineering diploma teachers and practitioners to register their details to receive the latest news and resources from TEP.
